I have trouble staying focused on the internet. I need a regular classroom course.
- Some classes are definitely better when taken in a classroom. Continuing education classes should be taken in a classroom if possible so that you get the most up-to-date information. Classroom discussions are also a great learning tool.
- However, studies have shown that students taking online pre-license courses score 25-30% higher on the state exam. So, online courses can actually be very effective for exam preparation.
- We do offer classroom courses for Continuing Education courses, so if you prefer a traditional classroom setting, we have that option available as well.
What are the advantages of taking online courses?
- Online courses allow you to maintain focus without interruptions, annoying sounds, and distractions. The classes are designed to focus solely on the material specific to passing the state exam, unlike in a classroom where unrelated issues may come up.
- Since the practice of real estate is mostly done on a computer nowadays, taking online courses can improve your confidence and comfort level with using technology.
- Online courses are also more cost-effective because there’s no need for travel expenses. You can access the course material from any computer, anywhere, at any time.
Can I attend a class if I am disabled?
- Absolutely! We are ADA compliant and provide a non-discriminatory learning center for all students. If you have any specific accommodations that you require, please let us know in advance so that we can make the necessary arrangements to fulfill your needs.
How long does it take to complete a salesperson pre-license course?
- For on-campus courses, the total duration is 12 weeks. However, with our distance learning courses, the length of time can vary depending on the individual. Some people spend more time each day on the course material and may finish sooner.
What is involved in a distance learning course?
- Our distance learning courses are accessible through our school website. Approved students can take the course from their personal computer and still receive personal assistance from instructors to answer any questions that may arise.
Is there a schedule for all the courses that you offer?
- For classroom class dates and times, please contact the school directly for the most accurate information.
- Distance learning courses, on the other hand, are available 24/7. If you have any doubts or questions, you can always reach out to us through the “contact us” icon on our website.
How long are campus classes, and do I have to attend every class?
- The Alabama Real Estate Commission requires a minimum of 90% classroom attendance in every Pre and Post Licensing class, with a ten-minute break per hour of class time. This policy applies to all courses except distance learning courses.
- If a student fails to meet the attendance requirements, they will not receive credit for that particular class. However, they are welcome to retake the class at a later time to earn the credit.
Are course payments required before the course begins or after completion?
- All courses must be paid for in full prior to beginning the desired course.
What happens if I have trouble learning the material?
- All our courses are designed to teach students using simple methods and clear illustrations to enhance understanding. If you have any unclear issues or questions, we strongly encourage you to bring them to the attention of your instructor. They will be more than happy to thoroughly explain any topics that may be challenging for you.
Do you offer sample testing?
- Absolutely! Taking sample tests as you learn, step by step, is key to learning and preparing for the state exam. In our classes, we provide tests for every topic, and we also correct your answers with explanations to help you fully understand the material being studied.
At the Alabama Real Estate Institute, we strive to provide various learning options to cater to different preferences and accommodate diverse needs. Whether you prefer a traditional classroom setting or the flexibility of online courses, we are here to support your real estate education journey.
