Stacker firmly believes in enhancing accessibility to the world’s data through the art of storytelling. With this mission in mind, most Stacker stories are freely available for republishing under a Creative Commons License. We encourage you to share our stories with your audience, albeit with a few guidelines and restrictions, as outlined below.
To publish, simply copy the HTML code or text provided on the left and paste it into your Content Management System (CMS). By doing so, you acknowledge and agree to the following guidelines:
- Attribution: Always ensure proper citation by acknowledging Stacker as the original source of the story. Be sure to retain all hyperlinks within the republished text, whether directing to Stacker, our reliable data sources, or any other references. Additionally, incorporate a link to the original version of the article on Stacker’s website. Lastly, indicate that the article has been republished under a CC BY-NC 4.0 License and include a hyperlink to the following URL: [link]. To prevent duplicate content, we request that you utilize the canonical tag to point back to the original article mentioned in the code. For more information on canonical tags or if you have any technical inquiries, don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
- Edits and Derivative Works: Feel free to publish our story verbatim on your website. However, if you wish to make any changes, such as copy edits or retitling the article, you can do so, while still attributing Stacker as the original source. Ensure that you provide a link back to the original article and explicitly mention the types of edits made.
- Non-Commercial Use: Stacker stories may only be used for editorial purposes. You are permitted to run ads alongside the republished stories as long as they are in an editorial context. However, please refrain from reselling our articles, sublicensing them, charging for access, or resyndicating them on any aggregation platforms, including but not limited to Apple News, NewsBreak, MSN, or Google News.
- Visuals: Please note that the visuals, such as photography and graphics, accompanying our stories are not covered by this license. Separate permission must be obtained from Stacker or the respective rights holder to use any image content. If you’re interested in becoming a Stacker Distribution Partner and gaining access to the accompanying visuals for a story, please email us at [email protected]
- Story Counter: We include a Javascript snippet in the code to track the publication locations of our stories. This is crucial for maintaining the availability of Stacker’s journalism. However, please be assured that we only track the URL and number of page views; no user information is collected in any way.
Stacker Distribution Partners receive an exclusive license to all Stacker stories, along with image rights, data visualizations, forward planning tools, and more. If your organization is interested in becoming a Stacker Distribution Partner, kindly email us at [email protected]
